By first creating, and the “owning” the answers to these two fundamental questions, you are at the starting point for living a full, satisfying and accomplished life.
The SHARP Method is a step-by-step approach for not only answering these questions, but also acquiring the tools, skills and habits to get SHARP and stay SHARP.
For many, there is a gap between the life we dream and the life we actually live. This dissonance can lead, as Thoreau noted, to a “life of quiet desperation.” It’s time to stop settling for less. It’s time to get SHARP.

SECRETS OF RESILIENCE

Although what we’re about to describe is part and parcel with us all, our daily fabric, our moment to moment movement through life, our ability to survive emotionally and physically, it is a particular word, which if fully embraced, serves as the key to mastering every challenge in life at any given time, under any given circumstance. And mastering this word is the essential component in great achievement at any level and will make the entire experience of The SHARP Method far more potent and effective.
The word is RESILIENCE. And the follow up for you is the act of RESILIENCY.
You are already a practitioner of resiliency! Humans are the ultimate survivors and, as such, are hardwired with innate reserves of tenacity and stick-to-itiveness. Add to the honing of your resilience muscles through the demands of your life to date –
- showing up for school everyday no matter what,
- likewise with your job;
- bouncing back from accidents, deaths in the family,
- having your heart broken.
We can say unequivocally you are already a person of RESILIENCE. Now our task in this chapter and following through in the workbook portion is to make you a Black Belt MASTER OF RESILIENCE. Sounds like a Kung Fu movie, we know. But the power of resiliency will separate you from the pack, solidify everything you’re working towards and completely ingrain the first premise of
